Welcome to the Youth pages of the website.

The Board of Education takes its work with young people very seriously (although we laugh a lot while we are doing it!)

The key areas of our work are planning and delivering events for young people which include residential weekends, pilgrimages to Taize and day events; training and resourcing the hard-working volunteer youth leaders in the churches of the Diocese through individual parish training, Equipping – a six session basic introduction to Christian Youth Work and a University Certificate in Christian Youth Work – a year long youth work training course delivered in partnership with the University of Cumbria and the other north west dioceses, and generally supporting the churches of our diocese in the delivery of youth work.

We provide regular mailings to young people ‘Connected’ and youth leaders, ‘Connect’ which provide up-to-date information about events and activities going on in and around the diocese.  We also provide resources for youth work and advice about how best to use them.
