Our school will provide a safe and nurturing learning environment where children have a strong sense of belonging, are happy and are encouraged to develop a love of learning.
A strong Christian ethos will be at the heart of school life. Christian values of love, care and respect towards others will be promoted within the daily life of the school and will contribute significantly towards children’s learning and to their personal and social development. Children will be taught to appreciate the needs of others and to show respect towards other people’s views, culture and religion.
Our aim is to equip children with knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that will help them to cope successfully with their present and future lives.
Excellence in teaching and enjoyment of learning will be central to our work. We believe that learning should be fun, empowering and challenging. A rich and exciting curriculum will be provided and will be designed to engage, motivate and inspire children to achieve.
An ICT (Information Communication Technology) rich environment will ensure teaching and learning is exciting, enjoyable and interactive. The multi media suite/library together with laptops, computer facilities in all classrooms and video conferencing equipment will ensure children have opportunities to use ICT to support and to further enhance their learning as well as enabling them to become independent and life long learners.
Our curriculum will be supported and extended through the provision of a wide range of enrichment activities and opportunities. We shall place a strong focus on
the Creative Arts (Music, Art, Dance and Drama) as well as Physical Education (PE) and Sport.
We are committed to the “all round” development of each individual child, enabling them to have opportunities to develop their own interests, skills and talents within a positive and supportive learning environment.
A wide range of extra curricular activities will be provided for children of all ages and will enhance their personal development and well being.
Children will be encouraged and supported to achieve high standards in all aspects of their work and school life. All children will be valued as individuals and will be encouraged to achieve their full potential. Children’s achievements and successes will be celebrated, helping to promote their self confidence and self esteem.
We believe firmly in close co-operation between home and school. Partnership with parents is important. Parents will be encouraged to share in and become involved in their child/children’s education. Ways in which parents can support their child/children with their work in school will be promoted and will help towards ensuring children become happy and successful learners. A range of information and support programmes for parents will also be provided. The establishment of a Before School Club and an After School Club will ensure parents have access to safe and affordable childcare.
Children will be at the heart of our school. Our school will be at the heart of the community.
We look forward to our new school helping to bring the new and expanding community of Buckshaw Village together.
