The Child Friendly Church Award

We now have over 60 parishes in the Diocese who have received the Child Friendly Church Award and many more who are working towards it.

Figures show that those churches who are actively encouraging families and children into their congregations are growing.
The Child Friendly Church Award is a way of raising the profile of children in your church. It will become an excellent tool for assessing the overall commitment to families and children by parishes in our Diocese.
Susan is willing to come out to your PCC or Children’s and Youth Workers to speak about the award and offer any help you may need.

At the Celebration of Education service on 13th February 2011 we presented  6 Child Friendly Church awards to parishes who have recently been awarded Child Friendly Church status.  

The Archbishop of York will be visiting our Cathedral in October and we would like him to present our 100th Child Friendly Church award so if you're not already a Child Friendly Church, download the pack or get in touch for more details.
