2015 marked an exciting milestone in Chaplaincy history, it was 10 years since Blackburn Diocese employed its first secondary school/academy based Chaplain, a model that has been used across the country. Sam has worked at Ripley St Thomas since September 2011, he is currently training for ordination whilst working full time at Ripley. One of the current projects he’s helping to head up is the Diocesan Youth Trip to our link Diocese – The Diocese of the Free State in South Africa.

Tabitha started working at St. Wilfrid’s in September 2015. She’s been involved in work with children and young people for several years in both churches and schools and is excited about this new opportunity. She’ll be involved in helping to plan and lead Sanctuary in addition to work in and around St. Wilfrid’s.

Dan has been working at St Michael’s since April 2014, he is famous around the school for walking in everyday playing his ukulele, and amongst many other projects Dan has established a young people’s worship band at the school.

Fiona is very much a Lancashire lass, looking forward to returning to her roots after a short spell down South. She spent the last couple of years on the Associate Scheme at St Helen’s, Bishopgate, and is excited to put her training into practice by speaking to young people about Jesus.

Helen has been working at St George’s since September 2012 and is currently the only ordained member of the team. She has a varied and rich ministry based at St George’s. She’s recently started a Christian based bereavement course for a small group of students.

Opa began working at St Aidan’s in September 2013. His role is split between supporting and developing the youth work provisions in several local rural parishes and his chaplaincy work in school. In addition to this he sometimes helps out lending his skills in woodwork and German.
