The Blackburn Diocese Board of Education will be sharing stories of how people around the Diocese have started different ministries. In our first showcase, we speak to Olivia Haines, the founder of Jelly Tots at St John’s Church Ellel. She shares with us her experiences, difficulties and successes so that you can be inspired to start up something in your own context.
Many of the great training and events that happen across the Diocese include elements relating to Under 5s.

As the service (which was not hugely child friendly) began, I saw how the boy engaged with images projected onto the screen, and listened to the prayers and said 'Amen'. Most memorably, I watched as the boy made music with his voice and clapped his hands during the worship songs. Seeing him doing this, you could not deny that this child, at that time, was immersed in praising God...and he was 2 years old!
Despite working with under 5s since 2004, and knowing the importance of sharing the love of Christ with young children, every time I witness something like this it blows me away. It's such an honour to see the youngest members of our church families connecting with God.
